RMS Cranes Utilizes JASO J1920 Derrick for Greater Efficiency and Lower Disassembly Costs and Time in Denver

10 / 09 / 2024

RMS Cranes, the Rocky Mountain region’s leading resource for lifting and moving heavy equipment, was selected to assist in the replacement of a chiller system atop the 470-foot Bank of Oklahoma building in downtown Denver, Colorado (US). To achieve this, they opted to use a J1920 Derrick crane.

The Jaso J1920 Derrick crane was the most economical and efficient solution for our valued client.“, said Kyle Smith, General Manager at RMS Cranes.

According to Álvaro Urbistondo de Leiva, North America Manager at JASO Tower Cranes: “RMS took full advantage of our Derrick’s design, which fits in hoists and elevators, significantly reducing disassembly costs and time. This approach eliminates the need for external hydraulic cranes or helicopters, minimizes technician involvement, and avoids street occupation.”

The RMS Rigging team expertly mobilized the crane in sections via the building’s elevator shaft, thus avoiding street closures and the use of a much larger crane at street level, and ensuring smooth operation in a challenging urban environment.
